Your terminal is your weapon. Every player on the network has an IP address, a reputation, and something worth stealing. Scan them. Crack their defenses. Raid their vault. Or get raided yourself.

NULLBYTE is a competitive hacker simulation where every raid target is a real player. Every intrusion you launch hits someone's actual account — and every alert you receive means someone is coming for yours. Learn the ropes through missions, then take on the network.

— CRACK CIPHERS —
The core skill. ROT13, Vigenère, Affine, Rail Fence, Playfair, XOR, Substitution — over a dozen cipher methods stand between you and your target's data. Decode them fast under a trace timer, or get locked out.

— SCAN & RAID —
Every operator has an IP. Scan it to assess their defenses before committing to a raid. Successful intrusions steal BTC from the target and boost your reputation. Failed ones cost you.

— DAILY CIPHER —
A new challenge every day. Crack it for bonus BTC and streak rewards. Tiered hints help when you're stuck — but using them costs you.

— BUILD A CREW —
Recruit up to 10 operators into a crew. Pool resources, coordinate mega-raids on hardened targets, and climb the crew leaderboard together. Strength in numbers.

— CLIMB THE LADDER —
Global leaderboards track BTC holdings, reputation, daily cipher streaks, and raid stats. Your handle and badge are visible to everyone. Make a name or become a target.

— YOUR IDENTITY —
Your IP address is your callsign. Other operators can scan it, track it, and hit it. Swap to a recycled address with reputation — or purchase a fresh IP that's never been assigned.

— TERMINAL AESTHETIC —
No flashy 3D graphics. NULLBYTE runs in a terminal interface — green on black, monospace type, command-line feel.
