Murmure transforms every walk into a guided stroll. Whether on foot, by bike, or on vacation, activate Stroll Mode: your phone will discreetly notify you whenever an interesting heritage site is nearby.

🏰 47,000 French historical monuments mapped
Murmure uses the official databases of the Ministry of Culture (POP-Mérimée) and OpenStreetMap to cover almost all of France's protected heritage: castles, churches, wayside crosses, mansions, archaeological remains, industrial heritage, and engineering structures. Each site is automatically enriched with its Wikipedia description and Wikidata data.

🎧 Contributed audio memos
Like Wikipedia, but for voice. Anyone can record an audio memo about a place they know: an anecdote, a memory, an explanation. These memos are then made available to all other users when they are nearby. Available in multiple languages ​​and tailored to different listening profiles (general public, youth, expert).

🚶 Stroll Mode — passive listening to heritage
Activate Stroll Mode and let the app do the work. When you approach a place of interest within a configurable radius (200 to 1000 m), a notification appears with three one-tap actions:
• Go there → direct directions
• Listen → play the audio memo
• ♡ Favorite → save for later
The selection is intelligent: in densely populated areas (city centers, Paris, Lyon), the app prioritizes the most noteworthy places (listed monuments, places with available memos) to avoid notification overload. In rural areas, all marked places appear.

🗺 A living map
Visualize the heritage around you in real time. The "Around Me" button gives you an immediate list of nearby points of interest, with photos, descriptions, and distances. Filter by category: religious sites, castles, civic sites, military sites, archaeological sites, industrial sites, and more.

• Your location is NEVER stored on our servers: it is used solely, in real time, to show you nearby places.

• No third-party analytics SDKs. Favorites stay on your phone.

• Servers hosted in France (OVH), GDPR compliant.

🌍 Multilingual
Interface and stories in 5 languages: French, English, German, Spanish, and Italian. Audio memos are available in several languages ​​depending on the contribution.

📱 Good to know
Walk Mode works in the foreground: keep Whisper open, or recently opened, during your walk. Background support, including on the lock screen, will be available in a future version.
