Translate Selected Text lets you translate highlighted text directly on any supported webpage without opening a new tab. Choose your preferred target language from the options page, select text, and use the extension menu item to view the translation.

The translation appears in a convenient panel that can be dismissed by clicking outside it or repositioned by dragging its gray header. The add-on does not work on restricted pages, including addons.mozilla.org.

Great add-on that always displays the translation in a good place and with clear borders so its visible and leaves the selected text still in view. However as of around 25.08.2026 I get an error that states "Error: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.", hope it gets fixed as alternatives are not as comfortable to use as this one.
