Track It — Right-click Package Tracking Firefox

Track It — Right-click Package Tracking

Right-click a tracking number and jump straight to the carrier's tracking page in a new window.

Features & Capabilities

No login or account is required to test this add-on. How to test:

  1. Install the add-on.
  2. On any web page, right-click a tracking number (or hover over one and right-click without selecting) and choose "Track shipment" > "Auto-detect". A new window opens on the detected carrier's tracking page. Sample numbers that demonstrate carrier routing:
  • UPS: 1Z999AA10123456784 (opens ups.com tracking)
  • USPS: 9400111899223817567891 (opens usps.com tracking)
  • FedEx: 231300687629631 (opens fedex.com tracking) (Sample numbers may show "not found" on the carrier site — that is expected; they exist only to show that each format routes to the correct carrier.) Permissions note:
  • The <all_urls> content script exists solely to read the tracking-number token under the mouse pointer at right-click time, so the user doesn't have to select it first. Nothing is stored, transmitted, or collected — see data_collection_permissions: { required: ["none"] } in the manifest. The only network activity is opening the carrier's own tracking URL in a new window when the user clicks a menu item.
