User Reviews

User reviews largely describe Toggl Track as a useful time-tracking tool with decent reports and solid Toggl integration, and note that the plugin has improved and stabilized over time. However, a core set of issues recurs across many reviews: syncing remains unreliable, with intermittent hiccups and not syncing entries; performance often slows browsers or causes crashes after updates; several UX bugs and regression in newer versions affect editing, typing, and general usability; some users experience being logged out or having data persistence problems. A minority report compatibility quirks with Firefox containers.
Pros
  • Useful time-tracking with a generally good UX.
  • Good reports and visualizations of time data.
  • Solid integration with Toggl's web service.
  • Stabilized and improved over recent updates.
Cons
  • Frequent syncing problems and unreliable synchronization.
  • Performance slowdowns and unresponsiveness after updates.
  • Crashes or freezes during use.
  • UX regressions and bugs introduced in newer versions (editing, typing, and UI glitches).
  • Being logged out or facing data persistence problems.

This extension continues to double in size for me in Firefox, which messes up interactions. I am on the latest Firefox, under Linux. I have to quit and re-open Firefox to fix the issue. Other extensions aren't doubling in size and behaving strange

1. Don't waste your time with JIRA sync - it doesn't sync anything useful. You must manually put time logs into JIRA, no matter if you use Toggl or not. 2. Doesn't show task you are working on anywhere visible. 3. Desktop Toggl app (necessary to make any real editing work when multiple tools in use) is unusable.
