TinyURL Firefox

TinyURL

A one-click tool to generate a tiny URL (tinyurl.com or is.gd) from your current URL and automatically copy it to the clipboard.

Features & Capabilities

TinyURL is a powerful Chrome extension designed for quick and effortless URL shortening. With just one click, it converts your current tab's long URL into a compact, shareable link via trusted services like tinyurl.com or is.gd, then copies it automatically to your clipboard for immediate use.

Permissions are carefully managed to support reading and writing clipboard data, accessing browser tabs, and displaying notifications without compromising your browsing experience. Perfect for anyone needing to share neat, reliable links swiftly from their browser.

User Reviews

User reviews largely praise TinyURL for being simple, fast, and easy to use. It quickly shortens the current tab’s URL and copies it to the clipboard, with a convenient toolbar icon and popup notifications. Several reviewers also value support for additional shorteners (notably is.gd) and a responsive maintainer. Some concerns mention privacy (VigLink cookies) and external TinyURL API changes that may cause delays or require updates. Feature suggestions include clipboard auto-creation, default notifications, redirect options, and custom TinyURLs.

Please update this add-on to support the new "API" changes from TinyURL. Their previous "API" has been deprecated as of September 2025. You can find more information on TinyURL's official blog regarding this issue, as I'm unable to provide links here. Currently, many links generated using this add-on redirect to a TinyURL page that requires a 10-second wait before the direct link loads. Thank you! Edit: To Developer... You are welcome, let me know if I can provide anymore information regarding this.
