Overview The ThreatLocker Web Control Extension strengthens security by verifying blocked websites and enabling access requests when allowed by administrators.

If a site is blocked by a ThreatLocker Web Control policy, the extension informs users why and, if permitted, offers a request option. If ThreatLocker or Web Control isn’t installed or configured, the extension stays inactive and won’t interfere with browsing.

How It Works The ThreatLocker Web Control:

• Detects blocked websites: When a site is blocked due to a network access restriction, the extension checks if the restriction was enforced by ThreatLocker.
• Enforces your ThreatLocker security policies: The extension securely communicates with the locally installed ThreatLocker security service (http://localhost:5252/) to determine if the block was policy-enforced.
• Provides Access Request option: If permitted by the blocking policy, users will be automatically redirected to a web page where they can request access.
• Ensures seamless browsing: If a site is blocked for reasons unrelated to ThreatLocker (e.g., general network issues), the extension takes no action.
