Tab Workspaces is a powerful Chrome extension designed to help you organize your browsing tabs into distinct workspaces. Each tab belongs to a workspace, allowing you to switch between sets of tabs easily and keep your browsing environment clutter-free. New tabs automatically belong to the current workspace, and pinned tabs remain visible across all workspaces.

Key features include workspace switching from the toolbar icon, sending tabs between workspaces via right-click, keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation, and an address bar search to find and switch to tabs within your workspaces. This extension provides a practical alternative to Firefox's discontinued Tab Groups, inspired by Multi-Account Containers, and includes a beautifully designed user interface. Note that due to API limitations, switching workspaces closes and reopens tabs, which can affect tab history and active processes.

Users like that Tab Workspaces provides simple workspace-based tab organization (useful for focus and emulating Opera workspaces). Major recurring problems: loss of saved workspaces/tabs, workspaces merging or duplicating tabs when switching, immediate loading of all tabs instead of lazy-loading, and buggy behavior with multiple windows; many report lack of backups and apparent abandonment of the add-on.
