User Reviews
Pros
- Powerful, feature-rich extension that enhances Firefox bookmarks and supports sessions (suspend/resume) and flexible organization.
- Easy to use with a clean, unobtrusive UI that stays out of the way.
- Stashed tabs stay stable and can be renamed, preserving URLs while navigating.
- Excellent workflow integration and flexible organization (current work vs long-term storage, subfolders).
- Supports import/organization and exporting tab sets to share or reuse.
Cons
- UX/UI can be confusing or cluttered, with a learning curve and updates making the UI busier.
- Some functionality has been removed or changed in updates (e.g., dragging stashed tabs to a different folder), reducing usability.
- Reliability risk: browser upgrades or Firefox changes can remove the extension or cause loss of stashed tabs.
- Import/title scanning after importing can be imperfect; a re-scan option would help refresh titles/headers.
- Lacks mobile support/sync across devices; wishlist item for cross-device use.

It's a wonderful add-on. It has a very powerful interface that offers great flexibility.
Implementing the data store in the form of bookmarks is a great idea. It’s a major help in a world where no browser yet understands the concept of ubiquity, the importance of having a robust implementation of workspaces that allow us to maintain consistency across the many computers we might use.
I would just appreciate if it were able to save and restore the pinned status of the tabs. The data layer allows for this; Firefox bookmarks let you assign a tag like “*Pinned”, which in my opinion would be the ideal and most simple way to store this attribute.
It would also be great if we could open a Tab Stash group as a Firefox tab group, or even open a TS group in FF along with its sub-groups (at least the top-level ones; in this regard, TS far surpasses the capabilities of FF tab grouping), accurately reflecting this “tree” structure.
If these features exist, I haven't been able to find them.
In any case, it's fantastic; the kind of add-on you'll find hard to do without once you start using it. Thanks so much, Josh.

Is Tab Stash Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Tab Stash requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
