Tired of unwanted popups? Leftover launcher tabs got you down? Want a simple extension to auto close tabs? Then look no further!

Features & Capabilities

Tab Close Gold automatically closes tabs you don’t want to see. Add unwanted URLs or page titles to a blacklist, match with plain text or regular expressions, and let the extension close matching tabs for you — optionally after a configurable delay of up to 30 seconds.

Import and export your configuration, and keep settings synced across browsers. Tab Close Gold is ideal for blocking leftover launcher tabs, persistent popups, or any recurring unwanted pages. Visit the project wiki for setup details and examples to get started quickly.

User Reviews

I've gotten used to Opera's "close launcher tabs" feature when giving that browser a try. Later under all other Chromium based browser there was a similar addon called TabCloser. But with this, I can now optimize my workflow within Firefox! Having the ability to automatically close launcher tabs for Zoom, Slack, Miro, Figma, Global Protect and many many more applications is just amazing! For context, I work in a large organization, attend many meetings, have to work through many tabs (as documents are in Google) and thus having all these Zoom tabs, VPN login tabs and so on open is just an eye sore! Every day I'd have to close these tabs, and with this addon I can customize which are kept, which are closed, what delay is configured and so on. Thank you for this gem of an extension, it deserves more attention!
