StackBack

By: Vvamp
Adds random backgrounds to stackoverflow and stackexchange

Features & Capabilities

Do you spend most of your time on stackoverflow? Are you bored of the same old white background? Well, not anymore!

With StackBack you see a different background image every time you visit another page on stackoverflow. These images are randomly retrieved from the unsplash api, so there'll be a huge variety of different backgrounds.

Current Features:

  • Get a random background when you're browsing stackoverflow
  • Set a custom search query to receive backgrounds related to something you love!
  • Adjust content filter strength to stay safe.
  • Set a custom background to any image on the web

Do you really really like a certain background? The image's unsplash page and link are provided in the developer console.

Release Notes (1.6):

  • Added the ability to adjust filter strength
  • Added the ability to enter a custom search query
  • Improved settings page ui

Is StackBack Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

StackBack requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.
