Social Libra Firefox

Social Libra

By: Shabti Add-on
Vote on Libra Scores, browse topics, and see balance ratings while you browse.

Features & Capabilities

Social Libra strives to bring balanced ratings and multi-perspective discussions ("Story Frames") to any page you're reading, and to Google search results.

On any news article or social post The extension recognizes article pages (via og:type meta tags, JSON-LD Article/NewsArticle/BlogPosting/etc. schema) and individual posts on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, and Threads. On those pages it shows a small draggable floating badge. Clicking it opens a panel that: - Lists any existing Story Frame(s) already tracking that URL, each with a Libra Score bar showing how the community has voted. - Lets a signed-in user cast (or update) their own vote on a -100..100 scale between the frame's two labeled perspectives, and choose whether the vote is public or private. - Lets the user start a brand-new Story Frame about the current page (title, description, and optional perspective labels) if none exists yet.

On Google search results (web and News tab) The extension scans the organic results and Top Stories cards and: - Shows the same Libra Score badge/voting UI next to any result that's already linked to a Story Frame. - Surfaces a "Related Story Frames" card above the results, pulling together the signed-in user's own matching frames, a text search against the query, and a topic match — so users see what already exists before creating something duplicate. - Offers a "Create a Story Frame from these results" flow: pick several search results with checkboxes, set a title/description and perspective labels (topics are auto-suggested from the query and result titles), assign a vote to each selected result, and submit them all as one new multi-article Story Frame.

Extension popup

  • Log in / log out of a Social Libra account (session is shared with sociallibra.com via a synced cookie, so being logged in on the site logs the extension in automatically, and vice versa).
  • Browse recent Story Frames, filter by topic, and follow/unfollow topics.
  • Open any frame to see all its articles, their Libra Scores, and vote on each one (public or private) inline.
  • "Share this page to Social Libra" — sends the active tab's title/URL to sociallibra.com to start a share flow.
  • Notification settings: a quick on/off toggle, plus a granular per-type x per-channel (email / push / in-app) preference grid for votes on your frames, comments on your frames, new frames from people you follow, and new frames in topics you follow.

Background behavior

  • While notifications are enabled, the extension checks for new Social Libra notifications every 5 minutes and shows a desktop notification for each one; clicking it opens the relevant Story Frame on sociallibra.com.
