Sneetches for GitHub Firefox

Sneetches for GitHub

By: Kev
Browser extension that displays GitHub repo stats (stars, forks, last push) inline next to repository links on any webpage.

Features & Capabilities

Sneetches adds GitHub repository statistics inline next to repository links on any webpage you visit. At a glance, see how popular and active a project is without leaving the page.

For every GitHub repo link on a page, Sneetches shows:

  • Stars - how popular the project is
  • Forks - how many people are building on it
  • Last pushed - how recently the project was updated
  • Contributors (optional) - rough head-count

Works on any webpage - blog posts, documentation, awesome lists, Hacker News, Reddit, Stack Overflow, and more.

The extension uses the GitHub API, which allows 60 requests/hour for unauthenticated users. To increase this to 5,000 requests/hour, add a GitHub Personal Access Token in the extension options (no scopes required). The Contributors annotation is opt-in and costs an extra request per repo — toggle it in the Advanced tray.
