Front Yard Garden

Instead of the plants shown here, you can use any plant that best suits your climate, such as a tree, shrub, or even a plant from your backyard garden.

Remember that the best way to mimic this garden design in front gardens is to keep the planting sparse and the lines clean. This gives your yard a tidier, more appealing look and allows you to bring light to the edge of your driveway to guide guests to your door. Solar lights are available in most garden houses and shops, and with a small boxwood bush, provide an immediate effect on the curbs around your home.


An extended terrace area in front of the house can be used as a sitting area and provides an attractive backdrop for outdoor events such as picnics, family celebrations, or weddings. A pink covered gazebo can also be a great addition to your front yard, as well as an ideal location for a flower garden.
Plant a garden that you can enjoy from the street or the yard, and allow your neighbors to move from one view over the fence to the next as they walk in the morning.

Some raised beds frame the gardens for a neat look that can ward off complaints from lawn lovers. The community homeowners association limits the amount of non-lawn space it allows in front gardens.
