SkipSlop Firefox

SkipSlop

By: Tanathy
Detect and skip AI-generated slop content on supported sites. Take back control of your feed.

Features & Capabilities

[DEV NOTE] The app is strongly in alpha version. Update will be coming with more control as my time allows it. Est: Mid July 2026

[DESCRIPTION]

SkipSlop detects and skips AI-generated "slop" content on YouTube, Spotify, and Facebook using a community-powered database.

The internet is flooded with AI-generated garbage. Synthetic voices reading Reddit posts, algorithmic music filling playlists, fake articles and images everywhere. This mass-produced, low-effort content drowns out real human creators and manipulates recommendation algorithms.

Current status

The extension is currently in experimental stage. Right now it focuses on reporting AI content and categorizing it by type. All reports are visible on our website. On music services like Spotify and YouTube Music, it can automatically skip AI content if you enable the skip feature. We are actively developing new features and expanding the system. Feedback is welcome.

What it does

  • Detects AI slop content in real-time as you browse
  • Auto-skip slop on music services (optional)
  • Site AI Index shows how "sloppy" a website is
  • Report new slop with content type categorization
  • Mark false detections
  • Community-driven database that improves with every report
Why it matters

AI content labeling laws are being introduced worldwide, including the EU AI Act, but enforcement is weak and platforms often ignore them. Meanwhile, vulnerable groups like children and elderly people are particularly susceptible to AI-generated misinformation and manipulation. SkipSlop puts the power back in the hands of users.

Supported platforms

  • YouTube (videos, shorts, music)
  • Spotify
  • Facebook (posts, photos)
Privacy

SkipSlop does not collect any personal data. No tracking, no analytics, no user profiles. The only data sent to our servers are content reports you choose to submit. Your browsing history stays on your device. The extension anonymously checks specific content IDs (e.g. video or song IDs) against our database.

Languages

Available in 39 languages including English, German, Hungarian, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, and many more.

Open and community-driven

Your reports help everyone. The more people use SkipSlop, the better it gets at identifying AI slop across the web.
