WHOIS Lookup Firefox

WHOIS Lookup

Look up domain registration, registrar, dates, nameservers, and status from the Firefox toolbar.

Features & Capabilities

WHOIS Lookup is a lightweight Firefox extension that shows registration details for the domain in the active tab. It queries the registry's RDAP endpoint when available and falls back to a classic WHOIS web service.

WHOIS Lookup add-on detects the domain in the active tab, shows the registrar, creation/update/expiration dates, nameservers, and domain status. Caches lookups locally for one hour. Indicates when a domain may be available, opens one of 10 configurable popular registrars for a final availability check.

Lets you clear cached lookup data from the settings view. Does not cache lookup results from private browsing windows.

Is WHOIS Lookup Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

WHOIS Lookup requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
