Swipe Navigator adds edge swipe gestures for back and forward navigation in mobile browsers. Designed for touch devices and touch-enabled laptops, it requires no settings and has no ads.

Note about compatibility: due to Firefox security restrictions, swipe gestures may not work on certain pages (addons.mozilla.org, mozilla.org, Reader Mode, or internal about: pages). Only newer Firefox versions implementing the Navigation API provide accurate Back/Forward state.

This only works if swipe navigation is disabled in Android settings in favor of free button navigation, which is a big downside given that I have to lose the backward swipe navigation at system level in order to get the forward swipe in Firefox. That's why I have to use an alternative extension, which adds the forward and backward swipe within the middle area of the screen - Simple Gesture for Android.

It doesn't work, even on nightlies with the new Navigation API. Plus, it requires access to all your data for websites. Every time you enter a password, it sees it. Why would a simple gesture app need this information?
