By: mbnuqw
Vertical tabs tree and bookmarks in sidebar with advanced containers configuration, grouping and many other features.

Features & Capabilities

Sidebery enhances your browser experience by organizing tabs, bookmarks, and history into customizable vertical panels. It features a tree-structured tabs list, grouping capabilities, colorization, sorting, and automatic tab unloading to keep your workspace efficient. Bookmarks can be viewed and managed in tree or chronological order with easy operations like open, edit, and delete.

Advanced container configurations let you bind tabs to specific contexts with options for proxies and user agents. Customize context menus, mouse and keyboard controls, and styles for a tailored browsing environment. Sidebery prioritizes privacy, storing data locally and allowing optional sync across devices. It supports snapshots for session backup and integrates smoothly, avoiding conflicts with other tab management extensions. Explore more on their GitHub page.

User Reviews

Users consistently praise Sidebery for powerful tab grouping, nesting, and collapsing to reduce clutter. They also value memory savings from unloading tabs in collapsed groups, rich customization (colors by domain, indentation, placement), and automatic backups that preserve layouts. A recurring limitation is the desire for native multi-panel or multiple tab groups. Overall, Sidebery is viewed as a productivity booster and essential tab-management tool, with some feature gaps.
Pros
  • Excellent tab grouping and hierarchical organization with nesting and collapsible groups.
  • Memory-friendly design that unloads tabs in collapsed groups to reduce RAM usage.
  • Rich customization and visual cues, including color-by-domain coding, parent-child indentation, and flexible tab placement.
  • Automatic backups that preserve tab layouts and state.
  • Strong productivity boost and workflow improvement reported by many users.
Cons
  • Lack of native multi-panel/tab group support: a commonly requested feature to extend the current single-panel layout.
Recent reviews
It turned the entire structure—which I had spent so long building—into mush.

Bad buggy with issues extension. Do not waste time on it. Whenever you select any 2 or more tabs the extensions randomly selects any other tabs not related to your selections. It's impossible to use. Very poor quality of work.
