User Reviews

Very nice, clean utility. It's a shame private windows can't be saved; I'll keep updated with development progress👍

Okay, I deleted my previous review. It really didn't work. My guess is because that time I had my session tabs messed up by Tab Manager extension, which I used to organize tabs between windows and it seems has adjusted moved tab properties to that none of session managers worked. Now I re-tested again and basically it works. HOWEVER, Sessionic is indeed buggy: 1) It kills CPU and Options page takes about 5 minutes to load. (I have 20 windows open, 10 regular and 10 private, 20k tabs open - all discarded by Auto Tab Discard, 0 pinned tabs) I wonder why opening menu could cause such a lag with Sessionic extension? Options menu should show just Options, but not do any unexpected heavy computation. 2) In Firefox 100% page view Options page GUI is visible only upper half. I have to adjust zoom to 50% to view full GUI and then text is small. (1920x1080, Screen Layout & Scale -> Scale is set to 150%) 3) Would be great to have auto export to file function, because unexpected browser crash can potentially break extension data. If these issues get resolved then this extension could beat Tab Session Manager.

Is Sessionic Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Sessionic requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk impact analysis details
  • Critical Grants access to browser tabs, which can be used to track user browsing habits and history, presenting a privacy concern.
Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Sessionic may not be trust-worthy. Avoid installing if possible unless you really trust this publisher.
