Selection Toolbar Firefox

Selection Toolbar

By: Raj Add-on
Select text on any page for a smart toolbar: copy, search, translate, calculate, read aloud and ask an AI.

Features & Capabilities

Select text on any web page and a small toolbar appears beside it with the actions that make sense for what you selected.

Always there: copy, search the web or the current site, translate, define, read aloud, look it up on Wikipedia or LinkedIn.

Smart actions appear only when the selection matches: open a link, calculate a sum, email an address, call a number, show an address on a map, preview a colour, convert units, currencies or timestamps.

Ask an AI: send the selection to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Perplexity, with your own default prompt per assistant or a one-off question.

Every action has a single-key shortcut. Choose which actions show, their order, where the toolbar appears, your search engine, currency and voice in Settings.

Free, no account needed. Signing in with Google is optional and adds Ask Claude, Ask Perplexity and ChatGPT temporary chats. The toolbar reads only the text you select, never the page, and sends it nowhere except to the action you click.

Is Selection Toolbar Safe?

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Selection Toolbar requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
