Secure Domain Search Firefox

Secure Domain Search

Privacy-first domain availability checker using DNS and RDAP

Features & Capabilities

Check domain availability directly from your browser - no registrar APIs, no developer backend, no logging.

Why Secure Domain Search exists?

Finding the perfect domain can be stressful, and every query risks your ideas being exposed to registrars or third parties.

Secure Domain Search helps you check domain availability without using registrar APIs, reducing the risk of domain frontrunning. All lookups are performed directly from your browser using public DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) and registry RDAP servers.

How it works?

DNS check (Cloudflare DoH) – If a DNS record exists, the domain is marked Unavailable.

Registry lookup (RDAP) – If no DNS is found, we query the domain’s registry directly.

Clear results – Domains are shown as Available, Registered, or Unknown.

Key features:

Privacy-first – No developer backend, no logging, queries stay in your browser.

Direct lookups – Uses public DNS-over-HTTPS and registry RDAP only.

Quick and reliable – Real-time availability results.

Is Secure Domain Search Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Secure Domain Search does not require any sensitive permissions.

Risk impact analysis details
Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Secure Domain Search may not be trust-worthy. Avoid installing if possible unless you really trust this publisher.
