Sectopus — Shadow AI Detection

Enterprise AI security posture management. Discover unauthorized AI tool usage across your organization.

Features & Capabilities

Sectopus gives IT and security teams real-time visibility into AI tool usage across their organization — without collecting any page content, keystrokes, or personal data.

WHAT IT DOES Sectopus silently monitors web traffic at the domain level to detect when employees visit AI-powered services such as ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, GitHub Copilot, and 500+ other tools. It categorizes each tool (chatbot, code assistant, image generator, etc.) and reports usage data back to a centralized dashboard your admins control.

BLOCK UNAUTHORIZED AI TOOLS Your organization can define blocking policies from the admin dashboard. When a blocked AI service is accessed, Sectopus instantly redirects the user to a branded "Access Restricted" page — preventing data leakage before it happens.

ENTERPRISE DASHBOARD All usage data syncs to your organization's Sectopus dashboard every 30 minutes, giving admins: • A real-time view of which AI tools employees are using • Session duration and frequency metrics • Category breakdowns (chatbots, code tools, image generators, etc.) • The ability to block specific tools organization-wide

PRIVACY-FIRST DESIGN • Only domain names are collected — never page content, prompts, or user inputs • No browsing history outside of AI tool domains is tracked • Data is stored locally and only synced when authenticated • Fully transparent — the Settings panel shows exactly what is collected

KEY FEATURES • Detects 500+ AI tools across 20+ categories • Instant domain-level blocking via declarativeNetRequest • Lightweight — runs in the background with minimal resource usage • Invite-code based registration for enterprise deployment • Automatic sync with exponential retry on failure • Works on Chrome and Edge (Manifest V3)

WHO IS THIS FOR? Sectopus is designed for IT administrators, CISOs, and compliance teams who need to understand and govern AI tool adoption within their organization. It is deployed via invite code — individual users cannot register without an organization invite.
