Minnesappen Loci

Learn a memory strategy and train your memory for three months! The Loci Memorial App is developed at Umeå University. To use the app you need an activation code that you get if you sign up for the study.

You are welcome to participate in the study as long as you are over 18 and have an interest in training your memory for three months. You should also be able to understand Swedish in speech and writing.

If you want to participate in the study, download the Memory App. Then you need to activate it with a code that you get when you sign up for the study. Once you have done so, you will have to answer a short questionnaire. Then you will learn a memorial strategy in a series of films with the Swedish Memory League's national coach Idriz Zogaj. The memory strategy is called the locus method and involves visualizing what one wants to remember for his inner eye and creating a kind of mental memory palette. With the help of the locus method, you can then train to remember as much as possible in a memory game. We want you to practice with the memory game several times a week, preferably for a moment every day. The goal is to be as good as possible! On a number of occasions during the study you will have to do memory tests.

The entire study lasts for three months. After that you will have to answer a questionnaire again and then finish the study. All surveys and memory tests are performed in the app and we collect data from the memory game to measure improvement. The data we collect is stored in our research database.

Participation in the study is voluntary and you can cancel your participation at any time. The study is approved by the Regional Ethics Review Board at Umeå University.
