The Ocean Scan app helps scientists to collect global in-situ observations of marine litter. These observations are then associated with their corresponding Earth Observation images from different satellite missions to create labelled data set to promote collaboration and research in the field of marine litter.

The Ocean Scan app also provides a standardized approach and a tool to access, collect and classify in-situ marine litter data.
