Scratchpad

Replacement for the JavaScript Scratchpad editor removed in Firefox 72

Scratchpad is a powerful Firefox extension designed to replace the JavaScript Scratchpad editor removed in Firefox 72. It provides an interactive environment where users can write and run JavaScript code directly within Firefox. Accessible via the browser's Tools menu, Scratchpad opens one or more windows that allow code execution in multiple contexts — including the active tab's page context, Scratchpad's content context, or background context. This flexibility enables developers to experiment and test JavaScript seamlessly within Firefox.

Built with CodeMirror 5, Scratchpad features a robust and user-friendly editor interface under the MIT License. It is an excellent tool for developers seeking to code, test, and debug JavaScript quickly without leaving their browser.

Good but please add tab support, having only 1 script 1 painful for multitasking

Thank you so much for that extension! Scratchpad was one of those features which made Firefox special and I seriously missed it once it was gone. I hope one day mozilla will stop trying to imitate chrome and gets back to what really matters: security, user convenience and outstanding features!

High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Scratchpad requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
