User Reviews
Pros
- Very useful for tracing SAML and WS-Federation authentication flows with detailed insight.
- Color coding and exporting features help in diagnosing issues efficiently.
- Easy to use and integrates well with Firefox for quick debugging.
- Essential tool for IAM professionals and those dealing with SAML integrations.
- Works reliably where other tools like BURP may interfere.
Cons
- No longer works properly in private browsing mode, causing inconvenience for some users.
- Some difficulty or issues reported related to downloading or installing the add-on from the website.
Recent reviews
Very useful tool to show what is going on "under the hood" during a SAML Web-SSO (or WS-Federation) authentication. Because many redirects are typically involved, it is very useful to have a tool that shows them all. The color coding helps to quickly focus on the relevant HTTP messages.
You can also make an export of the trace to import later, or to send to e.g. support to help diagnose an issue.

Is SAML-tracer Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
SAML-tracer requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
