This thing is component of an information gathering/monitoring system that many people install with the sole intention of getting the freebies that Auvik offered in exchange for trying it out. In a few instances it had to be anesthetized and removed from Firefox with a scalpel. After the second time it did the same thing on another machine, I too had to be anesthetized to be able to finish surgically removing it. The overall product seems pretty slick but it seems the individual modules and functions are oversold as more robust and functional than they actually are.
