Venice Gate Opener

Venice Gate Opener is an app for automatically opening barriers in residential complexes using GPS geolocation.

The app tracks entry and exit through pre-configured zones and automatically calls the barrier number when the desired area is crossed.

To function correctly, the app requires:
• Geolocation access permission;
• Call permission;
• Disabling Android power saving restrictions for the app;
• Background operation and geolocation access permission set to "Always Allow";
• the technical capability to open barriers by calling the barriers' phone numbers from your phone number.

Without the necessary permissions, the app will not function correctly in the background and automatically open the barrier.

App Features:
When the user approaches a barrier, they enter a pre-defined response perimeter to open the barrier. Depending on the perimeter, the appropriate barrier opens.

You can exit the residential complex toward the city through any barrier; the appropriate barrier will open automatically. However, to enter the residential complex from the city because the outer perimeters of both barriers are crossed, you must select the barrier for entry in advance in the app. In this case, the selected barrier will be triggered upon entry, provided the outer perimeter of the approach to the barrier is crossed. To start the app, you must click the "Start background process" button; otherwise, coordinate reading and barrier opening will not work.

Consequently, to stop the app, click this button again.

The app runs in the background even when the phone screen is locked (provided the background process is enabled in advance, as described above).

Therefore, the smartphone can be kept in a pocket or other convenient location, but a stable GPS signal is required.

The app is also useful if the user is riding in a taxi as a passenger, as there is no need to worry about finding the barrier's phone number.

The app does not require an internet connection to function properly, except for viewing the specified perimeter in the "Settings" window, which is optional. Displaying the perimeter on a geographic map requires an internet connection to download online maps.

To prevent false alarms when passing through the gate on foot, a speed limit is set: at speeds below 9 km/h, the barriers will not open.

The app is intended for personal use by residents of the "Venice-2" residential complex (Novosibirsk).
