User Reviews

Users generally praise RedditUntranslate for reliably removing Reddit's translation noise and for automatically stripping problematic parameters like ?tl=fr, which improves reading. They value the tool's effectiveness and the supportive, community-driven tips, with developers responding quickly. Main drawbacks are unclear setup instructions, the lack of an on-site disable option, and concerns about a version that broadens content blocking beyond Reddit.
Pros
  • Works flawlessly and effectively.
  • Automatically removes translation artifacts on Reddit (e.g., ?tl=fr) and reduces gibberish.
  • Improves Reddit readability by eliminating translation noise.
  • Helpful community tips and quick developer responses.
Cons
  • Activation guidance for the Google filter is unclear.
  • No on-site toggle to disable the translator.
  • Recent update appears to block content on pages beyond Reddit (scope change).

I would love, love, love to give this a 5 star review because this is an awesome idea to undo one of the worst "features" google has introduced over the years. Sadly, it doesn't work. I've tried the extension both in Helium and Firefox, but nothing. I've tried with regular google searches and with a custom Google Web view search. It doesn't work either way. I've been testing for some time and the only way to make the translated results disappear is by adding to every search -"?tl=", perhaps "-inurl:?tl=" isn't working anymore?

Hello, this is not working for me. Just '-inurl:?tl=' doesn't work for some reason. The only one who does work is: -inurl:tl= -inurl:translated If you could make one that uses it, it would work better, thanks
