Receptify Firefox

Receptify

Reduces recipe websites to the essentials by removing the preamble. Go to the website of the recipe, click "Receptify" and be presented with a list of ingredients and cooking instructions only.

Features & Capabilities

Many recipe websites contain a lot of background information that the user is not interested in. This add-on removes this and boils the recipe down to its core, an ingredients list and step by step instructions.

Instructions:

  1. Go to recipe website
  2. Click on the Receptify icon in the top right of your browser window and select "Receptify"
  3. If the website is compatible it turns into a list of ingredients with check boxes and instructions, similar to the screenshot below.
  4. Check off ingredients you already have at home
  5. Click on the Receptify icon in the top right of your browser again and select "Send to mail". This opens your standard email client installed on your device and prepares an email with ingredients you're missing to send to yourself as a shopping list. This functionality requires an email client installed and configured.
  6. To reset the webpage click on the Receptify icon and select "Reset"

I try to maximise compatibility, here is a list of websites confirmed to work: https://downshiftology.com https://gatheringdreams.com https://www.recipetineats.com https://cookieandkate.com https://www.bbcgoodfood.com https://www.epicurious.com https://www.allrecipes.com

Please contact me with feedback, feature requests and websites you would like to see be added to the compatibility list.

Is Receptify Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Receptify does not require any sensitive permissions.

Risk impact analysis details
Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Receptify has earned a fairly good reputation and likely can be trusted.
