QR Reader makes QR codes in browser-based books, articles, and learning resources easy to use. Click “Select QR code” or use the keyboard shortcut, then drag around a visible QR code on the page. QR Reader decodes it locally in your browser. Features:

Scan a QR code visible on the current webpage
Copy any decoded text or link
Open HTTP/HTTPS links in a background tab
Keep up to 20 QR values you explicitly copy
Supports light and dark browser themes
Keyboard accessible, including Escape to close scanning Privacy: QR Reader does not collect, transmit, or sell data. QR decoding happens locally. Only QR results you explicitly copy are saved locally in extension storage; you can clear this history at any time. Permissions:
Active tab and scripting: used only after you start a scan, to select and decode a QR code on the current page.
Storage: used only for the local copied-results history.
