Features & Capabilities

Anda is your ultimate mobile app for seamless travel within Porto's public transport network, utilizing Andante multimodal fares. The app eliminates the need to understand complex fare rules by ensuring you're only charged the minimum fare for your journeys.

Getting started is easy: create an account and link a credit/debit or Multibanco card as your payment method. Enable NFC, Bluetooth, location, and internet on your phone, then simply validate your ride by holding your device near the validator. The app confirms successful validations with green light and beep signals and keeps track of your ongoing trips.

Anda also allows you to monitor intermediate stops during your journey and automatically closes your trip when you exit the vehicle. Keep track of your travel history and charges anytime within the app. Whether you travel by bus, tram, or train, Anda offers a fast, comfortable, and worry-free transportation experience on the Andante network in Porto.

User Reviews

Across reviews, Anda is praised for being easy to use with a simple setup and a daily spend cap feature. However, most reviews point to serious reliability issues: frequent crashes, tickets not loading, and trips ending unexpectedly; widespread payment/top-up problems: cards not accepted, charges without loading tickets, and monthly subscriptions failing; heavy battery optimization/permissions requirements and privacy concerns; onboarding/account creation bugs; and reports of complete outages since Jan 2026.

Pros

Easy to use and set-up.
Generally positive experience for some users and works for them.
Daily spending cap feature helps control costs.

Cons

Reliability issues: frequent crashes, not reading tickets, and trips ending randomly.
Payment and top-up problems: cards not accepted, top-ups failing, being charged but tickets not loaded, monthly subscriptions failing.
Battery optimization and permissions burden: app requires exclusion from battery optimization and many permissions, with security concerns.
Account creation and onboarding bugs: frequent account creation errors and validation problems.
Persistent outages and lack of communication: outages reported since Jan 2026 with little warning or fix timeline.
