Maré Viva Portugal is a sea app made in Portugal, for the Portuguese coast —
the mainland, the Azores and Madeira. Tides, surf, fishing, solunar periods,
moon phases and IPMA warnings for 198 beaches, in one place.

TIDES
• High and low water times and heights, with the curve for the whole day
• Spring or neap, measured against that beach's own median range — not a
national average that means nothing in the Azores
• Heights above Chart Datum, the same reference the official tide tables use

• A surf score out of 5 that takes the beach's own orientation into account,
so an offshore wind at one beach is not offshore at the next one along

• A fishing score built from tide movement, moon and wind
• Species in season, sunrise and sunset
• A catch log that saves the tide and moon state for every catch

HONEST DATA
When a service is down, the app says so. It does not fill the gap with
invented numbers. Forecasts come from Open-Meteo and warnings from IPMA,
and every screen tells you where its data came from and when it was
last updated.

Tide heights are model estimates and are not for navigation.

European Commission's RecFishing app. Maré Viva's catch log is for your own
reference and does not replace that obligation.
