Prolific Assistant helps researchers and freelancers stay up-to-date by monitoring Prolific for new studies and alerting you as soon as they appear. It notifies you with desktop alerts for every new study and shows the current number of available studies directly on the extension icon.

Customize alerts with sound options (none, voice, or five distinct sounds), control the alert volume, and enable or disable desktop notifications to fit your workflow. The extension also displays the last check time so you always know when you last refreshed the list.

Users report Prolific Assistant for Firefox is unreliable overall. When it works, it can deliver timely study alerts and even access high-demand studies, but loading failures, random logouts, and inconsistent refresh behavior undermine usability. Notification quality varies, with audio alerts often broken by updates and some alerts appearing irrelevant. UI settings like Check Interval are missing or hard to access. In short, the concept is valuable, but frequent stability regressions and UX issues limit its usefulness.

Desperately needs a way to filter studies. I like to exclude studies that require a camera or downloading software on the main site - why can't we do it on the extension as well???

It now stops fetching for no reasons (since a year or more, actually), and they never fixed it, so it's basically useless. Support doesn't help.
