Tappy Tunes: Kids Music Game

Tappy Tunes is a music game for kids that begins with one tap. Your child taps a big rainbow key, a real note plays, and that is already the game. There is no wrong note, no timer and no way to lose, so a two year old can make music on the first try and a seven year old can play a whole song end to end.

It works as a first instrument for toddlers and preschoolers: eight bright keys labeled Do, Re, Mi and on up the scale, five instruments, and eight play-along songs.

HOW TO PLAY
- Tap any of the eight rainbow keys to hear that note
- Stay in Free Play and make up your own music
- Open Play Along and one key glows, tap the glowing key to move the song on
- Only the glowing key advances the song, so a stray tap never breaks it
- Finish a song and the whole board celebrates

FIVE INSTRUMENTS
Piano, xylophone, drums, bells and guitar. The pitched instruments share one eight-key layout, so a song your child has just played on the piano plays note for note on the xylophone or the bells. The drum kit trades the note syllables for seven named pads: kick, snare, tom, hat, clap, bell and wood.

EIGHT PLAY-ALONG SONGS
Rainbow Scale, Twinkle Twinkle, Mary's Lamb, Old MacDonald, Row Your Boat, Hot Cross Buns, The Happy Bus and Rainbow Run. Each song lights the next key to tap, so a child who cannot read music yet plays a nursery favorite all the way through by following the glow.

DO RE MI ON EVERY KEY
Each pitched key carries its own solfege syllable, Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti and Do again, in its own rainbow color. A child who meets solfege at preschool or in kindergarten music time sees the same syllables here; a child who has never heard of it just sees eight colored keys that sound lovely.

Free Play suits roughly ages 2 to 4: tap anything, everything sounds good, nothing can go wrong. Play Along suits roughly ages 4 to 7, where following a glowing key through a whole song becomes the thing worth doing. Younger toddlers enjoy it more with a grown-up alongside naming the colors.
