Pixel Cross is a calm nonogram puzzle, the picture logic puzzle also known as a griddler or a hanjie. The numbers beside each row and column tell you the runs of filled cells. Work them out, fill the grid, and a piece of pixel art appears. Every picture you solve is kept in your Picture Gallery, so the collection grows as you play.

HOW A NONOGRAM WORKS

A clue that reads 3 1 means three filled cells together, then a gap, then one more, in that order. Read a row clue against the columns crossing it and the grid starts to resolve itself. Fill the cells you are sure of, mark the ones you have ruled out with an X, and the picture takes shape out of the logic alone. New to nonograms? The first pack is 5x5 grids that teach the idea one clue at a time.

TOOLS BUILT FOR A GRID

Switch between the fill tool and the mark-X tool with a tap. Drag to paint a whole run at once, with an axis lock that keeps the line straight. Pinch to zoom and pan on a busy grid. A crosshair follows your finger down the row and column you are reading, and stays faintly after you lift off. Clues grey out the moment their line is satisfied.

TWO WAYS TO SOLVE

No timer. No lives to run out. No pay to win. In Assisted mode a wrong fill is flagged at once, with a three mistake limit to keep it honest. In Free Paint mode nothing is checked until you call the board finished, the way a purist wants a logic puzzle to behave. Reach the mistake limit and a short video can clear one wrong cell, or fill a single row or column you choose. Or restart the board, which costs nothing.
