Polyrhythmic Loom

Polyrhythmic Loom reimagines rhythmic training by transforming abstract musical time into a captivating visual weave. Designed for drummers, percussionists, composers, and music enthusiasts, this app bridges the gap between complex music theory and intuitive visual perception.

Instead of traditional flashing dots or basic metronome clicks, Polyrhythmic Loom represents interacting beat patterns as vibrating stretched strings on an acoustic loom. As the virtual shuttle travels along the bar grid, strings physically bounce and resonate upon contact, weaving a distinct geometric pattern that makes polyrhythmic ratios like three against four or seven against twelve effortless to understand.

The app features high-performance low-latency audio engine technology, ensuring precise rhythmic accuracy down to the sample level. You can seamlessly adjust tempos, customize rhythm ratios from basic meters to complex odd signatures, and select from diverse sound presets including wooden percussion, kalimba, and plucked strings.

Dynamic physical string modeling brings every beat to life with fluid spring animations. As your practice session continues, the intersecting rhythm threads create a visual tapestry of your chosen polyrhythm, giving you both an auditory and visual representation of musical harmony.

Whether you are training your internal clock, exploring advanced rhythmic structures, or searching for an inspiring musical tool, Polyrhythmic Loom offers an engaging and elegant approach to mastering polyrhythms.
