Chrome Broom is an all-in-one browser optimisation and tab management toolbox designed to keep Chrome organised, responsive and under control.

Whether you have a handful of tabs open or several hundred, Chrome Broom provides a collection of tools for clearing cache, sleeping unused tabs, finding duplicates, monitoring performance, saving sessions and tidying up your browser.

Use only the tools you need. All optimisation and automation features are switched off by default.

Clear the cache for the current website or clear Chrome’s full browser cache without removing cookies, saved passwords or browsing history.

Tab sleeping

Put unused background tabs to sleep to reduce memory use while keeping them available in the tab bar. Optional sleeping-tab markers make them easy to identify.

Automatic tab sleeping

Choose how long a tab should remain unused before Chrome Broom puts it to sleep. Pinned tabs, tabs playing audio and selected websites can be protected.

Live performance monitor

View live CPU and memory usage, open-tab counts, sleeping tabs, frozen tabs and audible tabs. Rolling graphs display recent CPU and memory activity while the Chrome Broom popup is open.

Duplicate tab cleaner

Find duplicate pages and close unnecessary copies while keeping the active, pinned or most recently used tab.

Detailed duplicate management

Review duplicate groups individually and choose exactly which copies to keep or close.

Favicon repair

Repair missing or broken website icons across open tabs.

Fix this website

Clear the current website’s cache, Cache Storage and service workers, then reload it. This can help when a website is behaving strangely, displaying stale content or failing to update correctly.

Tab organiser

Group matching websites together by domain to keep large browsing sessions easier to navigate.

Tab Parking Lot

Save groups of tabs into named collections, close them to free up space and restore them later.

Tab snoozing

Temporarily close a tab and have it return automatically. Snooze tabs for an hour, until tomorrow, next week or a custom date and time.

SETTINGS BACKUP AND RESTORE

Export your Chrome Broom settings to a local JSON backup file and import them again later.

Backups include your feature choices, preferences, protected websites, thresholds and schedules. Browsing history, parked tabs, snoozed tabs and session snapshots are not included.

You can also reset Chrome Broom to its default settings at any time.

MULTILINGUAL INTERFACE

Chrome Broom automatically follows your browser language and also includes a manual language selector.

YOU STAY IN CONTROL

Chrome Broom is built around user choice.

Nothing starts sleeping, closing, grouping, moving or clearing tabs unless you enable it. Every automation feature can be configured individually, and protected websites can be excluded from tab-management actions.

Chrome Broom can be used as a simple cache cleaner, a lightweight tab manager or a complete browser housekeeping toolbox.

PRIVACY

Chrome Broom processes tab and settings information locally inside your browser.

Your settings are stored using Chrome’s local extension storage and are not sent to Chrome Broom servers. Settings backup files are created locally on your device.
