Scroll less, read more. Save tweets, Reddit & articles. Read later word by word.
SpeedRead extracts clean text from tweets, Reddit posts, web articles, and any online content - then displays it word by word so you can read faster without scrolling. Save anything to your library and read later, even offline. No ads, no accounts, everything stays on your device.
📲 CONTENT SOURCES
Share directly from X (Twitter), Reddit, Chrome, Wikipedia, or any app - SpeedRead pulls out the article text automatically. Works with:
- Tweets, threads, and X Articles (full long-form support)
- Reddit posts and comments
- Web articles and blogs from any site
- Pasted URLs - ads and menus stripped out, clean text only
- Pasted raw text
- TXT and Markdown files
- Selected text from any app via Android context menu
📖 HOW YOU READ
Words appear one at a time on a clean, distraction-free screen. Tap to play/pause. Double-tap screen edges or swipe to change speed (±50 WPM). Speed range: 100 to 1000 WPM. When you pause, the app rewinds 5 words automatically so you pick up right where you were.
Reading modes you can turn on/off:
- ORP Highlight - marks the optimal recognition point in each word (Red letter or Gradient fade)
- Bionic Reading - bolds the first half of every word for faster scanning
- Smart Slowing - pauses naturally on punctuation, long words, numbers, and acronyms
- Context Ghost - shows previous and next words when paused
- Focus Pulse - subtle breathing animation on the active word
All of these can be toggled and adjusted mid-read without leaving the reader.
📚 SAVE FOR LATER
Every article you share or add is stored locally on your device. Open it anytime - internet not needed. Continue reading from where you stopped. Source icons show where each article came from (X, Reddit, Wikipedia, web, text, file).
