What is a magic square?

A magic square is a square field of size n by n that contains all numbers from 1 to n x n such that the sum of the numbers in a column or row is the same as in any other row or column.

The aim of the game is to complete the field so that all rows and columns of the square have the same sum of the numbers they contain.

The sum is called the magic number and is calculated as n*(n*n+1)/2.

The row totals and column totals are displayed accordingly. You cannot move or replace pieces marked with the dot.

A magic square in which two rows or columns are swapped is again a magic square. This means that if you know one magic square, you know many others.
