User reviews
PDF Mage is valued for producing text-based PDFs that retain webpage address and date stamps, making it suitable for basic webpage saving tasks. However, multiple users report inconsistent results on complex pages, poor formatting, inability to print or edit PDFs, and occasional non-responsiveness. Many believe the full potential of the add-on lies in a paid version, and express frustration with limitations in the free version.
Pros
- Produces text PDFs instead of bitmaps, preserving selectable text.
- Can include dynamic content due to using local rendering.
- Automatically adds webpage address, date, and time stamps on saved PDFs.
- Simple and quick conversion of webpages to PDFs for basic use.
- Has been useful to long-time users like professionals needing reliable webpage saving.
Cons
- Inconsistent functionality across different websites, especially for complex pages.
- Generated PDFs sometimes have poor formatting, including excessive white space or limited content capture.
- Some users reported inability to print PDFs created by the add-on, or PDFs being uneditable.
- Reports of non-functional aspects like no prompt to save or no new tab opening upon use.
- Limited features in free version and perception that better functionality is locked behind a paid upgrade.
Recent reviews
I've used this program one and off for years. I'm a paralegal and often need to save copies of webpages, which sometimes print in funny ways or don't grab all the information I want. PDF Mage fixes that problem, plus automatically stamps the address, and date and time.

Good extension, actually produces text PDF (not just bitmaps) and can limit HMTL to export. It seems to use the local render, so also dynamic content is exported as expected.
I only used the free version.
