What is Hover Zoom+?

Hover Zoom+ is an open-source Chrome extension designed to enlarge images and videos on various websites, including major ones like Facebook and Amazon. By placing your cursor over any image, the extension zooms the image to its full size for easier viewing. This new version is surge of the original HoverZoom extension, now removed due to malware issues. Hover Zoom+ is free from spyware, fixes multiple bugs, and introduces new features. It does not collect user data by default and its only required permission is to access data on all websites to enable image enlargement.

This is an open source version of the original HoverZoom extension which is now overrun by malware and deleted from store. In this version all spyware has been removed, many bugs were fixed and new features were added. It doesn't collect any statistics by default. The only permission it needs is to access data on all websites (to extract full images), and optional permissions to access browser history, download/save images or get tab urls for per-site configuration.

Essential extension for me but pictures and videos on reddit started loading very slowly since around two weeks ago... Wonder if it can be fixed?

I used to LOVE this extension, but it makes Facebook (and some other sites) completely unusable for me, especially on my Chromebook. I had to uninstall it. Sad. I hope they can fix it, I'd love to have it back.
