Active tabs is a Chrome extension that allows you to track and manage all your active tabs across multiple windows. It provides a count of total active tabs, a searchable list of tabs with the option to jump to specific tabs, and the ability to close individual tabs or entire windows.
Want to check extension ranking and stats more quickly for other Chrome extensions?
Install
Chrome-Stats extension
to view Chrome-Stats data as you browse the Chrome Web Store.
Shows a count of total active tabs across all windows on the browser icon. When clicked a searchable list of all the tabs appears broken down by window (each window is collapsible). Clicking any tab will immediately focus that tab, even if it is minimized. You can also close individual tabs or entire windows from the list.
You have to "Allow in incognito" on the manage extensions page to show incognito tabs, it will not show them by default.
Updates -
1.2 - now adds a background to tabs playing audio, also searchable by using the keyword "audio"
1.3 - added keyboard shortcuts (open help by hitting ?), prefixed keywords with _ to help separate further.

• Manca il grassetto del testo nella scheda della finestra corrente per indicarmi in quale finestra mi trovo, un punto di riferimento minimo;
• manca il drag and drop delle schede nella finestra corrente e tra le finestre;
• mancano i bottoni "copia, aggiorna" da affiancare a quelle del cestino.
• l'icona dietro il contatore si confonde con chi usa un tema scuro.
Darò 5 stelle se viene aggiornata.

• There is not present bold text in the current window tab to indicate which window I am in, a minimum reference point;
• there is not present drag and drop of the tabs in the current window and between windows;
• the "copy, update" buttons are missing to be placed next to those in the basket.
• the icon behind the counter gets confused with those using a dark theme.
I will give 5 stars if it is improved.
This is the most useful extension I have installed, out of about 20. I have a lot of tabs open (~200) on purpose, given my multitasking (for an administrative job) and a very powerful PC. This lets me, using a keyboard shortcut I map to the extension, open with Ctrl-e a popup search bar with which I can quickly find a tab by searching for characters in either its URL or Title, and then jump to that tab directly. Amazingly useful.
5 years later, Feb 2024: Still the BEST extension I use, by far. I also love the way I can collapse the displayed tabs into the windows each is associated with, to more esily find the 1-tab windows that I should close to improve efficienty. And the little animation on a tab is if is playing audio is a Godsend. Thanks!
