Every evening the tide washes glowing cubes onto an eight-by-eight tide-pool grid, three pieces at a time, and packing them tight is the entire game. Drag a piece across and a ghost preview shows exactly where it will land. Complete a full row or column and it dissolves in a wave of light, opening room for whatever comes next. Nothing rotates, so placement is the whole puzzle: every cube you set down decides what will still fit two moves later. In Sunset Run the tray refills only once all three pieces are down, and the run ends the instant none of them fits anywhere on the board. The grid never speeds up. It simply gets tighter.
Alongside the endless run sit the Tide Trials, twelve fixed boards seeded with coral tiles where the goal changes completely. In a trial such as Coral Cross you are handed a set budget of pieces and have to clear every coral square before that budget runs out, and how much of it you have left decides whether the board pays one, two or three shells. Combos count everywhere: clearing several lines in a single placement pays a bonus, and the counters at the top of the screen keep your live combo alongside the highest score you have ever reached. The whole app is laid out as neon slides you swipe through like postcards, from Play and Trials to the almanac, the quizzes and your records.
The Neon Lagoon Almanac collects twelve short entries about the ocean and the light in it, unlocked as you work your way through them. Three quiz formats turn that into a test: a multiple-choice round, a thirty-second true-or-false blitz where a streak of five doubles what you score, and Wave Order, which lines up four ocean creatures and asks you to tap them from smallest to largest. Records keeps fourteen achievements along with lines cleared, cubes placed and every personal best you have set. Clear the lines, chase the combos, wipe the coral from every trial, work through the almanac, and prove that you can keep a board alive when there is barely a square left.
