Features & Capabilities

The application (Akka) helps test patients for speech sound confusions using a set of predefined lists of words. The user of the application can choose which of these lists they want to test the patient on, and start a test with selected settings. Once the test has started, the user can go through one word at a time, and play the word out loud on the device's speakers - after the word has been played, the application will start recording an audio recording so that the patient can reproduce the word as it was heard. This audio recording is saved while the test is active in a temporary file in the application's memory.

When the patient has played all the words, the user of the application can choose whether they want to end the test without saving, and thus discard all the audio recordings that have been recorded, or end and save the test. The application will then save all the audio files in a folder for the specific patient under the "Music" folder on the device's own memory, and will then generate two text-based test reports that the user is asked to save in the same folder.
