Signal Private Messenger is a free, easy-to-use messaging app built with privacy at its core. It offers end-to-end encryption for texts, voice messages, photos, videos, GIFs, and files, ensuring your communication remains completely private. Users can enjoy crystal-clear encrypted voice and video calls supporting up to 50 participants, and connect with group chats that can host up to 1,000 members, complete with admin controls.

Beyond standard messaging features, Signal enables sharing of ephemeral Stories that disappear after 24 hours, giving users full control over their audience. As an independent, nonprofit organization, Signal collects no user data, employs an open-source Signal Protocol, and is committed to maintaining users' privacy without advertisements or investor ties. There are some settings that are hard to find and figure out!!! Should be more user-friendly!!!! Like figuring out how to settings work for identifying somebody else can read your messages and if they can how to settings work for identifying somebody else can read your messages and if they can tell if you have rubbed them or not! The little check marks with the circles around them are hard to read and overlap too much

I have not tried to verify security claims. But i trust them. Features and ease of use aren't quite as good as the default Android messenger but it has 90% of what I need. I wish all my friends used signal. I will say the link between the desktop app and the phone app is not very good. Constantly need to relink the desktop app and the phone app which is a major annoyance
