Features & Capabilities

Your Local Weather is a location aware weather app that uses cell networks, WiFi and GPS to display the current weather for your actual location. It supports a home screen widget and can update weather by a set period or when you move, using the accelerometer to detect distance traveled. Location is obtained via Mozilla Location Service; addresses are resolved with Nominatim, and weather data comes from Open-Meteo. The app includes Wear OS support with a watch face complication and a Tile for quick smartwatch access.

It offers multilingual support, current weather, 7 day forecast, many locations, notifications, unit options, and an ad-free experience. Translation contributions are welcome via the linked Weblate project.

There's some buggy problems with updates sometimes, but I just use an older version until that's cleared up and no problem. I refuse to use any other weather apps. It's clean, shows me what I need to see. No nuisance notifications, no advertisements, which should not be a thing since are tax dollars are what's paying for a majority of the weather information anyway. I love it.
