Lexitera

Lexitera teaches the words of Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian and English: flashcards come back right before a word slips away. Free, no ads.

START IN A MINUTE
Pick a language and begin with the hundred words no sentence can do without. Then the next four hundred, then the topics: numbers, food, travel, verbs, polite words. Everything is ready, nothing to type.

WORDS FROM WHAT YOU READ
Paste a page of a book or an article and the app finds the words itself, brings them to their dictionary form ("went" becomes "go") and adds a translation. Or just photograph a menu, a sign, a page.

SONGS
Short songs written for beginners: the days of the week in the language you learn. A word you have sung stays.

HOW IT TEACHES
Every word climbs a ladder of repetitions. Get it right, and the next review moves further out. Get it wrong, and the word drops back down. The lower steps ask for the translation, the higher ones ask you to write the word itself. Answer with a swipe, a button, or by typing, and the app checks the spelling.

AUDIO
The word, the word read slowly, and an example sentence are voiced and always one tap away on the card.
