Because there are no ads on Mastodon, there's no data tracking and no manipulative algorithm encouraging angry content, disinformation, or trolls. You see only what you enjoy-- you only see posts from people you follow or who follow you, and people they follow. This creates a very positive platform with friendly content. Because there are no ads to bury your content, more people see and share your posts here.
