Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major global threat of increasing concern to human and animal health. It has wide implications for public health in threatening a century of progress in health and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Due to the free movement of people and goods between countries, and the intensive international transport of livestock, the problem of AMR has become a global issue.
